No it is not a bad word to use in everyday speech. "Hell" is a mythical place where devils and other unknown evil is said to lurk. People use "Hell" all the time in everyday chatter such as; What the Hell, Hell of lot, No chance in Hell, and etc. However some christian's may disagree.
