yes. marijuana has far less harmful chemicals but up to 5 times as much tar as tobacco. ---------------------------
Marijuana has recently (June, 2009) been added to the Proposition 65 list of chemicals known to the state of Calfornia to cause cancer. Second-hand marijuana smoke contains 50% to 70% more harmful chemicals than tobacco smoke. See http://oehha.ca.gov/Prop65/docs_state/mjcrnr061909.html
Children can be affected differently than adults. While large doses of THC act as a CNS depressant, lower levels of THC can act as a stimulant, so kids can go around talking incessantly when exposed to a parent's smoke. Teenagers' mood swings can get worse, and some kids become forgetful, angry, or violent after having been in a smoke-filled party room.
Yes, secondhand smoke of any kind is harmful to children. You should not be smoking marijuana or cigarettes for that matter in the presence of children, or even at all; it shows horrible responsibility and lack of caring/respect. If you smoke marijuana in front of children they are going to get the effects of the marijuana as well.
No. Although it's best to avoid carcinogens, the chemicals produced by lighting things on fire, marijuana has never been shown to effect pregnancy negatively.
A study done in Jamaica even suggests that women who consumed marijuana while pregnant gave birth to children with higher IQ's than those who didn't. This is not permitted in the United States however.
No. Maybe if you were directly smoking it, it could have an effect on an unborn fetus, but I don't think any research has been done about the effects of cannabis on a developing fetus.
It will kill em.
no
yes
Secondhand smoke is terrible for anyone, and even more so for a baby or young child. SIS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) has ties to secondhand smoke. Asthma and allergy development have ties to exposure to secondhand smoke. As a baby's lungs are developing, exposure to the carcinogens in secondhand smoke can lead to serious health consequences.
NO smoke should be inhaled by the baby at all. Its more harmful to the baby to breathe it in than to the person who is smoking...which is stupid.
Of course they will.
it doesn't!
No, you should not drink, smoke, or do drugs as this can cause birth defects and the baby will be addicted at birth.
No, it is not.
I dont believe second hand Marijuana does anything bad to the baby when you are pregnant. Second hand smoke from Tobacco is infinitely worse for you than second hand Marijuana.
yes because for one marijuana is a illegal drug[where i live] and they will inspect your baby to make sure the smoke hasn't harmed the babys lungs.
I'm not aware of any tests that suggests this. Obviously, you can always miscarriage, but the chances of this will likely not be increased by him smoking marijuana. I would strongly advice you to not expose yourself to secondhand smoking (or smoke yourself for that matter) as that can have very negative implications for your baby.
Weed or *marijuana* goes through your system correct? now think of this. Your a grown person. your lungs can handle basicly a ciggy or a puff of marijuana, but for a pregnet women with a baby inside, smokes. that baby isent even grown or developed yet so its basicly like posion for it. If your going to smoke weed, or drink substances that can affect your baby.. why the hell would you even have one, its just gonna turn out with problems and you only have your self to blame
The carbon monoxide in the smoke will affect both the mother and and unborn baby.
Yes. i don't believe that it will affect your baby
