This depends on the use of the object made from silica.

Place the Silica Gel on a oven safe dish and heat at 250°F for 60 minutes.
They were a very stealthy and efficient missle that could destroy ships from a safe position
They wanted their ships and crews to be safe at rest.
Any material containing crystalline silica is hazardous if its use or misuse results in release of the silica into the air that people could breath. If Hardiflex II contain crystalline silica it may be hazardous, if it contains amorphous silica, not.
it depends on how you use it.

Yes, the electronics system on board ships ensure safe and efficient operations for an engineer.
The use of silica gel can be interpreted in two ways. It well know that silica (SiO2) can adsorb water on its surface. If you use silica dryed under 400 °C, the process of adsorption occurs by the silanol group. So, molecules with a polar groups like hydroxil, amine, nitrilic ... can make chemical interactions with the silica surface and can be retained more time into a column. In this case the adsorption is chemical. But, if you use a deactived silica (~5% H2O), the H2O molecules make a layer into a silica surface and the main process occurs by partition chromatography.
While it isn't unsafe to compost Silica Gel, it will not decompose. The Silica Gel will simply absorb moisture from the compost until it is completely saturated. Silica Gel is useful for drying and preserving seeds and therefore can be useful for organic gardening.
To clean the silica off a beaker, it needs to be soaked first. After it has been soaked, it can be cleaned by the use of a beaker cleaner.
