The Sun is not the hottest star known, indeed many stars are hotter than our Sun.

Of course, the Sun is far hotter than any other body in our Solar system, but in the entire universe, about half the stars are hotter than our Sun, and about half are cooler.

No. Althoug Sirius is hotter than out sun, it is not the hottest. Sirius has an estimated surface temperature of 9,900 K. The hottest stars can have surface temperatures over 30,000K.
