As far as I know it is still contagious. The antibiotics help the symptoms, they do not cure the RSV. My 4 month old just got over RSV and his pediatritian gave him medicines and told us he was contagious for 8 days from when the symptoms first appeared. I have also heard they are contagious for 10 days from a friend.\
"Antibiotics are not effective treatments for viral illnesses such as RSV infection"
That is quoted from the CDC so the answer is not only yes but also antibiotics do nothing for it
Yes.
You must finish taking all of the antibiotics. Even if your symptoms have begun to clear up and you are feeling better; if you still have antibiotics left than you are likely still contagious.
Symptoms often begin to go away before you have completed taking all of the medicine, the virus itself however is normally still present and your body is still fighting it off.
Yes, because it is resistant to most antibiotics, that is the problem.
The infections do not become more or less contagious by resistance to antibiotics. Only thing becomes difficult is how to treat the disease. You kill a person and that person is dead. You kill an antibiotic and millions are dead.
No, it is not contagious and cannot be spread from person to person.
Septic tonsillitis, also known as streptococcal tonsillitis, is contagious until the person has been on antibiotics for at least 24-48 hours. It is important to finish the full course of prescribed antibiotics to prevent spreading the infection to others. Close contacts may also need to be evaluated and treated if necessary.
If it is strep you are contagious for 24 hours after you start antibiotics and are without a fever. If it is viral that is not as serious but you will be contagious for longer.
Depending on the bacteria, the infection will no longer be contagious between one and three days after beginning antibiotics. To be safe always use condoms.
Antibiotics don't cause UTIs, and they are not contagious.
Yes, MRSA is contagious. MRSA is a skin condition that can potentially threaten your life if you don't receive the right treatment.
If you've been prescribed antibiotics I'm assuming that you tested positive for a bacterial infection. Sometimes you doc will prescribe them anyway (bad idea). Strep can cause tonsillitis and we all know that you wont be contagious after 24 hours of being on antibiotics. If your tonsillitis was caused by a viral infection the antibiotics wont do anything for you except lower your immunity, and you'll still be contagious.
Usually, yes. The most common causes are respiratory synsythial virus (RSV), parainfluenza viruses, influenza viruses. Metapneumovirus, human bocavirus, and a number of other recently discovered viruses are implicated as well.
noIt is sometimes due to conditions that are contagious and can be transmitted from person to person
