Place a small drop before the moth and see if it wants to feed. Gently nudge it towards the drop if it does not move, it might be drowsy or even asleep during the day. It doesn't need to stand in it with its legs, it only needs to smell there's sugar there and extend its tongue to drink it. ^^

What I think is the caterpillar of a lunar moth is munching on my gardenia bush.
Good question. The Gypsy Moth was a type of moth that is common to England. The de Havilland DH 60 was first called simply as a "Moth". Maybe it was named this because its wings could be folded alongside the fuselage. In 1928 when the new de Havilland Gipsy I engine was installed did the airplane become the "Gypsy Moth".Actually, the gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar, has never been a common moth in England. It isn't clear to me if this question is about the moth or the airplane...

Actually, Luna moths have NO MOUTH, therefore they do not eat!AnswerThe Luna Moth is a Saturniidae, and as such have no mouths and no need to eat. This type of moth only lives for one week and its sole purpose, in its butterfly stage, is to reproduce.
They do not eat, they only survive long enough to mate and lay 100s of eggs.
Well, most moths are quite fond of sugar water. No one quite knows why they prefer this particular mixture, but they sure do chow down on it. What you do, is you mix together water (doesn't matter if it is warm or cold...just don't make it freezing or piping hot) with A LOT of sugar. Then, you put a cotton ball into the mixture and let it soak it up. The reason you want to put it into a cotton ball is because if you just put it in a bowl, the moth may drown in its food. Kind of squeeze out some excess water, not a lot, just so the moth can't drown in it, then you're set to go.
It means that your fridge is cool enough to kill a moth....
Butterflies nomatter what size will eat sugar water. take two teaspoons of sugar mix it in a cup of water and squirt a little on a flower but you have to be carful because if the surgar water gets on its wings the butterfly will not be able to fly. you could also feed it a sliced grape, orange slice, or gatorade.
Moths can only suck nectar of flowers through a very thin proboscis. This glucose sugar is virtually ready to be absorbed directly into it,s bloodstream without digestion. Moth larvae have a completely different make up and can digest cellulose.
