Sulphate a non-metal!!!!!!!!*X!?! sulphate is a compound, SO4- so it is neither metal nor non-metal. But THINK about it; sulphur is a non-metal and ate as a suffix of a compound means that oxygen is present as in chlorate etc. Therefore surely you can work out that sulphate, being a COMPOUND is also made entirely of non-metals!
Sulfur is not metalic. Metals usually are either electron donors (like lithium or boron) or have electrons in loosely held orbitals, like copper or silver. When put together in pure forms the atoms therefore easily share electrons and so current can flow.
Sulfur, however, is chemically like oxygen, and is a consumer of electrons, binding them closely so they cannot move easily between atoms. This is an insulator.
Sulfur(S) is a non-metal and sulphide(S--) is an ion of sulfur, which has 2 electrons more than that of an atom of sulfur and hence sulfide has a charge of -- (or 2 negative charges). eg.:_ Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)
Yes Sulphur is a non-metal along with other non-metal solids Carbon, Phosphorus and Selenium.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) is a compound, no metal or non metal.
yes
Sulfur is a non-metal.
yes it is a nonmetallic
No, sulfur is a non metal
If it is bonded to a metal, then it is a polyatomic ion, sulfite If it is alone, then it is sulfur dioxide
Well, you have a metal oxide reacting with a non-metal oxide. They usually tend to have a synthesis reaction. In this case Sodium Oxide + Sulfur Dioxide = ? The products are therefor Sodium Sulfite Sodium Oxide + Sulfur Dioxide -> Sodium Sulfite The chemical equation is Na2O + SO2 -> Na2SO3
Sulfur is a non metal. It belongs to group 16.
It is an abundant, multivalent non-metal.
Yes, SO2 (sulfur dioxide) is a gaseous binary compound consisting of 1 sulfur atom covalently bonded to two oxygen atoms. The molecule is a bent-shaped dipole.
No, sulfur is a non metal

Sulfur is a non-metal. And it is "metal".. not "medal".
