Sulphur can be pure or impure depending on it's source.For that matter no substance can be classified as pure or impure just by it's name.It depends on what chemists call ASSAY.Whenever you buy a chemical ask for ASSAY,you will know it's purity.Sometimes , even if the purity is not 100%,the chemical can be used if the impurity does not affect the product.Even the so called pure metals will have some amount of impurity
