Plasma is merely a material existing between gas and liquid states, and often has very high temperatures.

fun facts:

  • Nothing can move faster than the speed of light, as it is the highest speed there is. (unless you take into account the recent findings at CERN, where a particle actually appears to have moved sliiiightly faster)
  • Nothing with mass (like plasma) can ever reach the speed of light, as the energy required to do so, would be infinte (a fun little quirk of Einsteins equations on the matter ;P)
  • As a particle with mass approaches the light speed, the mass increases, so the amount of energy needed approaches infinty.

Is the speed of sound faster or slower than light?

Way slower. For reference, the speed of sound is about 767.3 mph and the speed of light is 671,000,000 mph.

Was the cathode ray slower than the speed of light?

No, the cathode ray is faster than the speed of light.

How can you race the speed of light?

What do you mean, make it faster? In a vacuum, light travels at only one speed. There is no way to make it faster or slower. In other materials, light is usually slower. There are instances where it is actually measured to be faster, but it is generally believed that this can't be used to transfer matter, energy, or information, faster than the speed of light.

Is there a tiny particle that can faster than the speed of light and sound?

no, not that i know of though but im sure nothing is faster than the speed of light and the speed of sound is slower than the light

Does light get faster when it moves?

In a vacuum, light travels at a constat speed. It won't get faster or slower over time. In other substances (e.g., in water) light moves at a speed determined by the characteristics of the substance. Here, it won't get slower or faster with time, either.

Is mach 20 faster than light If not how much slower?

No, Mach 20 is not faster than the speed of light. The speed of light is approximately 299,792,458 meters per second in a vacuum, while Mach 20 is roughly 7.35 kilometers per second. Therefore, Mach 20 is significantly slower than the speed of light.

Does light travel slower then sound?

No. It's the other way around ... sound is much slower. The numbers for each are thus: * Speed of Sound: 340.29 m/s * Speed of Light: 299,792,458 m/s Yup - light is faster ... much faster. You've never heard in the comic books "faster than the speed of light"??????

What is the speed of light in US?

The speed of light is approx 299792458 metres per second. And it does not travel any faster nor slower in the US.

Is light faster in gas or in an empty space?

Usually, in most substances the speed of light is slower than in empty space.

Why does light travel faster in empty spaces?

Light travels faster (up to the speed of light) in a vacuum, which is empty space. Light travels slower through a medium (matter).

Do electrons move faster than the speed of light?

No. Because of their mass, they travel slower than c.

Will travelling faster than light land us in future?

We will land in past.when our speed is slower than light there will be some time in clock ,when our speed is same of light than the in click will stop for us, But when our speed is faster than light the clock will start moving reverse.
