No, all tapirs have four hoofed toes on the front feet, and three hoofed toes on the back feet.
A horse is considered a one-toed hoofed animal, due to its single hoofed toe.
Both creatuers are odd-toed ungulates.
sloths move so slowly( .5-1 ft per second) that moss and algae grows on them.

An antelope is a hoofed ruminant animal. A hoofed ruminant animal is one that has even number of toes, chews cud, and has a divided stomach.
The largest odd-toed ungulate is the white rhinoceros, while the largest even toed ungulate is the giraffe. An ungulate is a mammal with hooves, and not real "toes" When you think of hooves, you could think of horses or deer. Both are ungulates. There are two types of ungulates. Even toed and odd toed. Odd toed ungulates have 1, 3, 5 and so on toes. Even toed have 2, 4, and so on.
There are five extant tapir species and a number of extinct species: * Baird's Tapir, Tapirus bairdii * Malayan Tapir, Tapirus indicus * Mountain Tapir, Tapirus pinchaque * Brazilian Tapir (also called Lowland Tapir), Tapirus terrestris * Black Dwarf Lowland Tapir, Tapirus pygmaeus[1] * Tapirus polkensis †* Tapirus merriami †* Tapirus veroensis †* Tapirus copei†* Tapirus californicus †Hybrid tapirs from the Baird's Tapir and the Brazilian Tapir were bred at the San Francisco Zoo around 1969 and produced a second generation around 1970.

there are two answers to your question my friend, because the phrasing of the question lacks a general direction...1-The Tapir are on the endangered species list because their population number has reached a low number and continues to lessen, which is quite sad.2-Tapir's are becoming endangered because of Malayan poaching and the advance of surrounding civilization on it's habitat.
the eqqus family are split into 2 groups the 2 toed like deer sheep cow ect wich have split hooves and the 1 toed horses zebra ect. xxx
The World'sTapir's Baird's Tapir (Tapirus Baird)Malayan Tapir Habitat Range map by bonnie price (DOGSAY32000) Range: This species is found from southern Thailand and southern Myanmar (Burma) through the Malayan Peninsular and on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It occurs in rainforest's and lower Monte forests. It survives well in secondary, regenerating native forests. Characteristics: Up to 1.8 meters long (6 feet) and 350 kg (720 pounds). It is the largest of the four tapir species. Status: Endangered Conservation threats: Habitat destruction and fragmentation is the primary threat. Large scale deforestation, including illegal logging for timber, is a major source of habitat loss. The growth of palm oil plantations is also a major factor in habitat loss. Hunting is also on the rise as other large "prey" species in the area are reduced in number. Population Estimate (2008): 1500-2000 individuals. Numbers are decreasing. BehaviorMating: Primarily solitary, the species forms occasional associations for breeding.Sounds: Communication is by a range of whistles of different pitch and duration.Activity: More active throughout the night but often seen during the day, including feeding. The species frequently defecates in water as well as on land. The spraying of urine onto vegetation and trees is thought to be associated with home range marking. There is no evidence of exclusive territoriality. Males appear to have small home ranges (about 1-2 sq km) and females possibly range more widely.Feeding habits: The species eats the twigs and growing tips of a wide range of understorey vegetation, including snapping small to large saplings with its mouth to get to plant parts that are out of reach. It also takes a large variety of fruits and leaves from the forest floor.Other: A lot is still unknown about this species. It is vulnerable to predation by tigers. Its only defense is to run through thick vegetation. It has very thick and tough skin, particularly on its hindquarters. It also has a vicious bite.Other names: Malayan tapir, badak (Malaysia and Indonesia), somerset (Thailand).
The even-toed ungulates(Artiodactyla) are ungulates (hoofed animals) whose weight is borne about equally by the third and fourth toes, RATHER THAN mostly or entirely by the third as in odd-toed ungulates (perissodactyls) such as horses.Artiodactyla comes from (Greek: ἄρτιος (ártios), "even", and δάκτυλος (dáktylos), "finger/toe"), so the name "even-toed" is a translation of the description.[1] This group includes pigs, peccaries, hippopotamuses, camels, chevrotains (mouse deer), deer, giraffes, pronghorn, antelopes, sheep, goats, and cattle.andAn odd-toed ungulate is a mammal with hooves that feature an odd number of toes. Odd-toed ungulates comprise the order Perissodactyla (Greek: περισσός, perissós, "uneven", and δάκτυλος, dáktylos, "finger/toe").[2] The middle toe on each hoof is usually larger than its neighbours. Odd-toed ungulates are relatively large grazers and, unlike the ruminant even-toed ungulates (artiodactyls), they have relatively simple stomachs because they are hindgut fermenters, digesting plant cellulose in their intestines rather than in one or more stomachs. Odd-toed ungulates include the horse, tapirs, and rhinoceroses.Regards:Mirza Muhammad Arslan Azam
