Try thinking about acids, bases and neutrals like this:

ACIDIC: Anything that tastes sweet, tangy or sour.

Example: Fruit

BASIC: Anything that is soapy.

Example: Bleach, laundry detergent

NEUTRAL: Only something that has a pH of 7.0 is neutral. Distilled water is the only thing that is a naturally occurring as a neutral.

Tea is acidic, but only slightly so.
