The 98 Cavalier 2.4 is a NON interference engine.
A 1998 Chevy Cavalier is an interference engine meaning any timing failure will result in catastrophic damage. A free-running engine will simply stop running until and can readily be fixed.
Separate the tranny and engine...It's in there.
The 1998 Cavalier does have a PCV valve. The valve is in the side of the valve cover, held in by a metal ring.
That engine is pushrod, it is the GM 3100 if I'm not mistaken. What are symptoms because bent valves are unlikely.
Did u check your enigine cooling fan?
Interference
The 1998 Toyota Sienna does not have an interference engine. This is what makes the engine to be quite sensitive as interference engine design is easier and safer to replace.Ê
