If they made the 1991 Talon in a 4wd model and you can get a donor car, then the price would be what the donor car cost plus hours of hard work. If they did not make this model in 4wd, the cost would be more astronomical. Add on They did make an awd 91 but you are looking into something that is nearly impossible. If you have the ability to put a fwd next to a awd you will see that the fwd isn't made to be a awd. Theres more trunk space in the fwd meaning you would need to modify a lot. If someone can prove me wrong then correct me.
Yes, if it's a 4 x 4. I towed one behind my motorhome all over the US. Just leave transmission in park or neutral and place transfer case in neutral. I always did this with engine running, put transfer case in neutral, then checked to make sure by placing trasmission in drive to make sure transfer case was in neutral, then placed transmission into neutral and shut off engine. Don't lock steering wheel ! Leave key in lock and engine off, but unlocked, as front wheels need to be free to turn. Remember you can,t backup much, as wheel will turn hard over after a few feet in reverse.
There should be a lamp on the dashboard with something like 4 wheels and lines between them, when you turn on/off your AWD, this lamp should be on or off. Other systems show this kind of information on display. Anyway most of the cars are permanently AWD, FWD or RWD.
Pretty sure that means that the 4WD is in the process of engaging. Blinks for a few seconds then stays on. Mine sometimes blinks while in 2WD whether I'm using 4WD or not. Research on internet suggests it's fairly common problem and probably due to misaligned sensor. Since I've tested my 4WD/2WD (on ice) to see whether it was going in and out of 4WD correctly I placed window tint plastic over light so it would stop buggin' me...;) Sometimes may take a few miles of driving for it to go out. Usually after some starts and stops. Sometimes shifting into and driving in reverse a little bit does it too.
The tie rod torque bolt settings, on your 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee, is 70 pounds per square inch. The bolts should be torqued in 35 pound intervals.
