I think yes because when did a bunny come into the picture of god coming back to life?? Another thought: One needs to consider the meaning of the word "idol". Generally, an idol is something to which people bow down and pay homage, or something which becomes the most important thing in someone's life. It is doubtful that the Easter Bunny is in either position. And because of the rabbit's fertility, this creature does symbolise new life. At the same time, however, it's also true that the thought of Easter bunnies and Easter eggs has, for some, definitely taken the place of what Christians believe as the "true meaning of Easter", that is, Christ's death and resurrection. Materialism and commercialism, on the whole, tend to take more of the form of an idol, because the all-consuming need for more "stuff" (at Easter as much as at any other time of year) tends to overshadow the Christian celebration.
