a karrera was my first bass, i loved the way the pickups screamed when the tone was turned up, and had a growl when the bass was bottomed out. loved it, wish i had it, my suggestion,if you buy one make sure that the neck has a truss rod, mine didnt and got a fairly nasty hump, also dont pay too much for it, its not feature packed or well known but makes a great first bass or backup bass. their necks also come in a shorter scale 20 or 22 fret. i play a full 24 fret scale on my warlock. good luck myspace.com/metalmaniaxx

Good question. A bass will work with any bass amp. That's the only restriction, you have to use a bass amp. If you try a regular guitar amp you may over drive it too much and damage the speaker. Hope this helps.
