You can expand the memory of the Kindle1 using an SD card.

The Kindle2 doesn't have that feature, but it comes with enough memory for around 1500 books, so you should be fine.

No you can not expand Kindle Fire memory. Storage is available from the Amazon cloud. If you need more storage area, you can purchase additional space.
