Actually Labrador Wolves are not extinct, they are considered endangered. They were over-hunted in the early 1900s but due to the growing caribou population the wolves' numbers are growing to correlate with their prey. Labrador Wolves still maintain about 100% of their historical territory but they are rarely seen due to their elusive behavior and are often mistaken for the other wolf populating the southern part of Quebec: the Eastern Timber Wolf. They're not gone, they just don't like being seen and they are endangered.
