No, I believe it goes with the default texture. But if you have a Painterly texture pack, you can choose what the extra creatures look like.

First you have to type in a minecraft texture pack on google (ill tell you a few, Yoshi Craft and Doku Craftk) then you click on the link of the texture pack, then you should see a download button, click on that, then you have to wait for it to download then you have to put up minecraft texture pack folder, after you have done that you simply need to drag the download file into the Minecraft texture pack folder, then Yala!! -youre fav gamer =P
The bed colour is dependant on your texture pack. The default is red, but in some texture packs, it is blue. If you're using the default texture pack, your beds will always be red, there's no way to craft a non-red one. But likewise if you have a different texture pack, all the beds will be blue by default.
My favourite Minecraft texture pack is probably Summerfields Craft, and it's pretty realistic, and it's awesome. I got it on a list of the ten best minecraft texture packs. By the way, Diamond Craft on this list of 10 things, and LB Photo Realism both don't work properly. Transparent craft is one of the best, and of course Summerfields is probably the most realistic.
