I made my 5 year old son wait for a year before giving in and letting him have our DS, then my 3 year old daughter watched him and very soon after was given a second hand ds - they both play New Mario bros and they love it. Even my 3 year/3mth old is a complete whizz... wouldn't have guessed it!
