The Sunfire is an excellent small car. The 2.2L engine is solid as well as the automatic transmission. The only drawbacks are GM paint and cheap steel that rusts unless loked after which is the case with most cars nowadays.
No! but cavliers, eclipses, volvos and lexus's are. A sunfire is pure Pontiac PERFORMANCE!
not to be mean but there isn't many. i suggest that you get rid of that car and buy a more reliable car.

To fix the Pontiac Sunfire if it jumped time, the timing belt has to be replaced. Then the car has to have the timing set again after the belt is replaced.
How is the ignition key switch replaced on the 2000 Pontiac Sunfire? And after replacing the switch would I have to have it Towed to the Pontiac Dealer in order to have the car key programed to the Computer?
Pontiac didn't make the Sunfire until '95. So, either you have the year of your car wrong, or it might be a Sunbird. If you can clarify this for us, we can help you.
