Yes, the Spectacled bear, also known as Andean bear, is a real bear. It lives in the Andes mountains of South America. The binomial name is Tremarctos ornatus. The name comes from the white markings around its' eyes on otherwise all-black fur. They are the only bear living in South America today, the last remaining short-faced bear of several species in North and South America during the Pliocene and Pleistocene.
