Food is halal for Muslims if it is free of pork products, alcohol, and if its meat is slaughtered as per Islamic requirements.

Those-said requirements are: The animal should be slaughtered by a Muslim, and done while pronouncing the name of God.

Also, note that chain slaughtering(using machines to do perform the actual slaughter) is NOT halal complaint!

"Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah. that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars)…" (The Quran 5:3) (Y. Ali)

Taco Bell has prided itself on being religously conscious. The whole line and prep cycle has been moved to please Hindus, and the way our meat is preparred, stored, cooked, and re-heated has been changed and changed and changed (exact amount) to make our food Halal.
