Guns are relatively modern invention, so were probably NOT used by "ancient" Indians. "Ancient" is a relative term unless placed in context. Also you need to specify what do you mean "ancient Indians" as in natives or the country India, or American native Indians?
Domestic cattle, sheep and goats provided milk for ancient Indians so that they could spend less time hunting and more time on agriculture. The herds also provided dung for fertilizer and cattle or zebus pulled the plow in the fields. Chickens and their eggs provided protein for ancient Indians also. This allowed more people to live in a smaller area, since they did not need to range so far to find food.
