It's located on the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake within 2 miles of the new airstrip.
They do not take kindly to any type of trespass and have a slew of detectors around the boundry of the base - particularly in that area. I was caught near there in the late 90's, just hiking, and was treated pretty severely (prosecution-wise). Now after 9-11 I think they will prosecute trespassers even more harshly.
