How many clownfish should you have in your saltwater fishtank?

Well it depends on how big your fishtank is. If you have a smaller fishtank I would suggest only one, especially if you are planning to buy clownfish from different stores. In most cases, if you have a clownfish in your tank, and then you add another clownfish, they may be a bit aggressive to each other. However, sometimes they aren't aggressive at all. I actually had three clownfish in my fishtank. I started out with one and then I got two more about a year later. The two were pretty small and young; they were siblings. I also had a Blue Devil (type of damsiel) and at once he began picking on the two of them. The larger clownfish that I'd had already actually chased the damsiel away and began protecting the two until they got a bigger and more confortable in the tank. The three clownfish all get along with each other now. Occasionally they will chase one another around the tank, but they get along fine. I also had another type of clownfish at one time in the tank with them, it was a black and yellow and white one. But my three clownfish completely ignored him. I guess it depends on what type of fish you already have in your tank, how big your tank is, and what type of clownfish you plan on getting.
