Yes distance will be equal or more than the magnitude of displacement.

Distance cannot be less than the magnitude of displacement in any way.

For example if a body goes around a circle completing one full round then distance covered will be the circumference ie 2pi r

But displacement is zero. As the starting and stopping point are one and the same, the distance between initial and final is zero.
