If you are referring to the conservation statuses, they are as follows according to the IUCN: Threatened Species Vulnerable Endangered Critically Endangered Species that aren't yet threatened are considered either Least Concern or Near Threatened. Surprisingly, there are even two statuses for extinct species; Extinct in the Wild and Extinct.
An extinct animal means there are none left; they all have died. Endangered means there is a small amount left of that animal and they are about to become extinct. Threatened means they are about to become endangered.
