The Sims 3 has sold over 10 million worldwide, which shows that lots of people think so. I know a few people who don't like to play PC games, apart from Sims 3. There's also lots of different things that you can master on Sims 3, since there's lots of different careers, and also you've got a whole town rather than just a couple Sims.
Some people may find the game a bit dull however, since there's no particular aim, and no levels. It can get a bit repetitive once you've played for ages too.
