At the front of the engine, to the driver's side of the harmonic balancer.
The easiest way is to look at the Harmonic Balancer. The 305 has a wider thicker balancer than the 350. Pus the timing tab on a 305 is located ON the timing cover and the 350 is bolted on the with the cover bolts. Riky9
If your refuring to the harmonic balancer use a good steering wheel puller!!!!
it is located on the harmonic balancer outer edge even with the crankshft "key"
The timing marks should be found on a little metal plate directly above the harmonic balancer.
Not usually. The balancer is specific to the engine as it counterbalances the rotating internal parts. Hope this helps.
Not recommended.
