The energy of the sun results from atomic fusion of hydrogen into helium.

Before nuclear fusion was understood (until the year 1939) the source of the sun's energy was not known. At that time it was thought that the sun was a huge ball of burning coal (where it got the oxygen to burn was not too clearly explained). A bit of math disproved this theory. First mass of the sun is about 1029 tones. Based on the amount of heat and light from the sun this amount of coal would be consumed in about the first 5000 years of its existence. Evidence proves the sun has been burning for the last seven to eight billion years. It would haven it would have been reduced to cold ash by now.

Why can you say that the energy obtained by burning fossil fuels originated by the sun?

your not cool.

What does fossil fuels lead to?

burning fossil fuels create carbon dioxide which trap the heat from the sun causing our planet to warm up, this is causing the ice caps to melt and sea levels to rise.

Can you make electricity without burning fossil fuels?

yeah you can make electricity by using wind, solar (sun) water (waves)

Where did fossil fuels get their energy from?

the sun

Is it possible that global warming is caused by the Earth's orbit being closer to the Sun or by Sun spikes?

No. There is a correlation with various orbital variances, the gradual increase in the Sun's power output with time, and sun spot cycles. However, just about all climate scientists agree that global warming is caused by human activities of deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels.

Name the phenomenon because of which the earth's atmospheric temperature is increasing and causing widespread environmental changes?

The phenomenon is called global warming, which is primarily caused by the increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere due to human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. This leads to the trapping of heat from the sun, resulting in the gradual warming of the Earth's surface and atmosphere, leading to climate change and its associated environmental impacts.

How is the Greenhouse effect linked to the burning of fossil fuels?

Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat from the sun within the Earth's atmosphere, leading to the greenhouse effect. This effect causes global temperatures to rise, resulting in climate change and other environmental impacts.

Are fossil fuels from the sun?

not really fossil is made from dead organism

Where did fossil fuels actually get their energy from?

the sun

What did fossil fuels get their energy originally from?

The sun.

How is the chemical energy in fossil fuels related to the sun's energy?

Fossil fuels are formed from organic matter that originally obtained its energy from the sun through photosynthesis. This organic matter stored the sun's energy in the form of chemical bonds, which is released as chemical energy when the fossil fuels are burned. So, the chemical energy in fossil fuels can be traced back to the sun's energy.

What does burning fossil fuels leads to?

Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. This contributes to climate change by trapping heat and leading to global warming. It also causes air pollution, leading to respiratory illnesses and other health problems.
