not to the Indians, the term results from culture clash, and you would get wild to if someone were taking you land by hook, crook and death. The Europeans and white men viewed undeveloped land (which would've been all of North America in the 1400's) and all that lives on it to be 'wild'. Wild land, wild animals, wild indians.
