On the upper hose at the engine end
Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine and it will lead you right to the housing of the thermostat
the ECU of Elantra is situated underneath the dashbord upper left side coner, upper side of the foot fuse box..
Folllow your upper radiator hose to the engine to locate the thermostat housing
The thermostat in a 1998 Hyundai Accent is located on the engine block. The thermostat can be found by following the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
Changing a thermostat in a 1999 Hyundai Accent is very easy. To locate the thermostat, follow the upper radiator hose. The thermostat can be removed by taking off the housing retaining bolts. After the bolts are removed, take the thermostat out and replace with a new one.
The thermostat is located on the front of the engine, between the upper and lower coolant hoses.
The upper radiator hose is attached to the thermostat housing.

The thermostat is commonly located on the front of the engine. It can be located where either the upper or lower radiator hoses connect to the engine.
That is the lower hose and the one connected to the radiator is the upper one..
If your truck is overheating!!! Then check the upper radiator and lower radiator hose's , if the lower is cooler the the upper the either the thermostat is not opening or the radiator is clogged
It is located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose. Take the thermostat housing off. When replacing the thermostat make sure the spring goes toward the engine. It is not the upper radiator hose...it is the lower one..
