However, Cipro is no longer recommended for treatment of gonorrhea in 2011 as I'm typing this answer. Call your doctor to find out what was intended with the two medications. There may be some other explanation specific to your situation. If the doctor was trying to cover gonorrhea, ask him or her to choose a medication from the current CDC treatment recommendations.
