Both the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens come from post-Pyramid Egypt when pyramids were not built, either because they encourage grave robbing, or, more likely, that were financially impractical and used too many workers. King Tutankhamen for instance comes from a fairly recent period of Egyptian history.
