NO they are not the same.
in the fuel tank
bad sending unit
Most of the time, the fuel gauge is not the problem. The problem rests with the sending unit in the fuel tank. To fix it, you must replace the sending unit. This is done in different ways depending on the position of the tank in your particular truck.
what would cause a oil pressure gauge to fluctuate on my 99 Chevy truck silverado i change the sending unit it does it mostly after it warmed up
In most cases it's the sending unit in the gas tank at fault. It would require dropping the gas tank to replace the sending unit.
the oil sending unit on your truck is located near the distrbutor on most Chevy engines for that year it look like a metal can with a wire connected to it that is the one for the gauge if its the light one then it has two wire connected to it some of these engines will have both right near the dis. some will have these senors near the oil filter.
When the check gauge light comes on in the 1995 Chevy Cheyenne, it means there is a problem with the transmission. If the truck won't shift in to overdrive, there is most likely a problem with the VSS system. The transmission needs to be removed so the VSS can be accessed.
That light notifies you that one of the gauges is out of its normal parameter. Check the temp (overheating), the voltage (not charging) and the oil pressure gauge (low or no oil pressure).
1993 chevy 4.3 v6 1500 truck temp gauge inoperative,
It is probably a bad float and you will have to replace the sending unit assembly.
Chevy's are known for this problem, i just recently had the same problem and what you need to do is replace the fuel sending unit. My original problem had to do with my fuel pump not working and i wasn't really worried about the gauge but we figured since we had the tank down we might as well swap the sending unit and my gauge starting working. Good luck
How do change a light on a steering column in a 2006 chevy truck?
