Few wild animals have a source of "clean" water. Most sources in the wild, especially in semi-arid regions, are polluted with feces from other animals, sometimes with agricultural chemicals as well as disease organisms and parasites.

They should have water near by to clean themselves and to drink. Trees and long grass can help the cheetahs with food where they can crouch and crawl through the long grass to their prey and trees they can pounce down onto the unfortunate animal underneath.
Have you heard there's a place that makes the water clean. And you can drink from clean streams and lakes but not oceans. Everybody knows that the ocean has salt water so if you drink it you can't stop and that not healthy.

Cheetah's are meat eaters and they can survive on the moisture content in the meat they consume. However they need to have a drink of water atleast once a few days. Cheetahs are like all other mammals and can die of thirst and dehydration if they don't drink for a week or so.
