There is no such thing as THE wine industry just as there is no such thing as THE alcohol industry. There are grape growers, wineries, wine wholesalers and wine retailers. Wine retailers include restaurants, often grocery stores, sometimes, state monopoly stores, bars, etc. Producers, wholesalers and retailers often have conflicting interests. And there are also conflicting interests among retailers.

There is no reason to believe than any of these components is a fraud.
