Same basic concept. Crush grapes add yeast let mother nature do the rest. Today we filter the wine and do not have the contamination problems that they had 2000 years ago but wine is still just fermented Grape Juice. Same as what Jesus served.

Can Christians drink?

Yes, if you are referring drinking alcohol. The first miracle Jesus performed was turning water into wine at a wedding feast in Cana. John 2:1-10 tells of of a marriage feast where they ran out of wine. The Bible account, at John 2:10, tells us that the director of the feast says of the wine that Jesus had made from water: "Every other man puts out the fine wine first, and when the people are intoxicated, the inferior. You have reserved the fine wine until now." There are some religious groups who believe that drinking alcohol is a sin, so they claim that Jesus only turned the water into grape juice. If Jesus had made grape juice, the director of the feast would not have said: You have reserved the fine wine until now." there are other Scriptures stating that wine can be beneficial. Psalm 104:15 tells us that wine make the heart of mortal man rejoice. At 2Timothy 5:23 the apostle Paul tells Timothy to "use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and frequent cases of sicknesses". Jesus drank wine; his apostles drank wine, so drinking, in moderation, is acceptable. Getting drunk is the sin, (1Corinthians 6:10) so self-control is necessary.

What is the bread and wine ceremony?

Christians call wine and bread the same - wine and bread. However wine and bread are used in Christian churches as emblems/symbols that represent the blood (wine) and body (bread) of Jesus Christ. Some wine is drunk and some bread is eaten as a reminder that Jesus died as a sacrifice for sin. This act of taking bread and wine is called communion or the Lord's supper. 1Co 11:23 - 26 .....................the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.

Did Jesus drink wine with his disiples after his resurrection from the dead?

In the Bible, there are three cases where Jesus was eating (or blessing the food) after the resurrection. He ate bread and fish, but there is no record of Him drinking wine. So, it is safe to say that He did not drink wine after the resurrection yet. Luke 24:30-31 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. Luke 24:42-43 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence. John 21:13 13 Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

When did Jesus turn water into wine?

A:The miracle in which Jesus turned water into wine is described only in John chapter 2, occurring "on the third day", or soon after the baptism of Jesus, and Jesus told his mother that his time [for miracles] had not come. Caution should be exercised in accepting this miracle as having really happened. In the synoptic gospels, Jesus had begun his forty days in the wilderness at this time, so could not have been at a wedding in Cana. The author of John's Gospel, as the gospel name implies traditionally regarded as the apostle John, liked to ascribe to Jesus miracles similar to those attributed to the pagan gods. Just as the god Dionysus turned water into wine, so Jesus turned water into wine. Later in the same gospel, we are told of Jesus healing the lame man at the five-sided pool, now known to have been part of an Asclepium. a temple to the Greek god Asclepius. When Asclepius (John's "angel") came by and disturbed the water, the first to enter would be cured, but the lame man was never able to reach the water first. This points to these miracles as literary creations, not events that can be dated with precision.
