Is the world really going to end on December 21st 2010 if not when is it going to end?

why would the world end on the 21st of December 2012? that's the first time i heard of THAT one. and there is an unlikely chance that we will die in 2012. we have as much as chance as dying then, then we do today. and if we die we die. but the sun is going to explode in a few billion years. it is going to explode or turn off, no one is sure. but if it turns of we will freeze instantly. if we want to survive we should travel to a different planet that's further then Jupiter.( if the sun explodes)
