Not really. A lot of cents and nickels were minted that year in an effort to make up for the huge numbers of silver coins that were being melted.
The only "unusual" thing about 1965 coins (and 1966-67 as well) is that they didn't have mint marks so you can't tell which mint struck any particular coin from those years.
There is nothing particularly special about a 1965 penny in terms of value or rarity. However, it is still a part of US coinage history and could be of interest to collectors or enthusiasts.
Yes.
I believe that there was never a 1965-d penny minted. The only pennys are the no mint mark Philidelphia. There is only one penny to collect for this year except for uncirculated . The uncirculated is a special mint set penny SMS . No regular uncirculated or Proof mint sets were made just the SMS . They did this for three years 1965, 1966, 1967
A U.S. 1965 cent (not penny) was minted without a mint mark. It is a common coin. A 1965 Great Britain penny is worth 10 cents if uncirculated.

A New Zealand 1965 bronze Penny (Elizabeth II), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $9 NZD. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything up to $8 NZD. There were 200,000 minted. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation. NOTE - The New Zealand 1965 Penny was the last to be minted prior to the introduction of decimal currency in 1967.
