Is their coupling in Tales of Symphonia?

Yes, there in fact are multiple ones that you can encounter depending on what order you do things in the game, the sidequests you've done, and how you respond when the game gives you 2 things to say (both during the story and a skit).

Skits- If you've noticed those glowing circular things on the field (you can only see them if you're walking, not flying or riding) those are skit points. These skits will build or further your relationship with the included character. Some appear only when you have a certain member in your party (1st 4 slots). For instance, if you switch Sheena from 6th to 3rd in the group and then you see a glowing thing appear on the field, then that skit must be about Sheena. Walk into the glowing area and a skit appears. Of course, the glowing skits are usually only between Lloyd and another member of the group.

Events where you get to choose someone to do something (Ex: who you think is waiting for you on the balcony during the "kidnapped princess" sidequest)- There are many events in the game similar to the example and the person you choose will become much closer to you.

Battles- if you tend to put Lloyd and Sheena (or some other character) in most battles together, then their relationship will slowly build. This also includes in fighting the same enemy as them, giving them items(not letting them die), and reviving them if they do die. However, you must do it quickly in order to not distance the character from you. Life bottles usually get it done as long as Lloyd is the one giving it. Don't let them get hurt or die too much.

Possible couplings in Tales of Symphonia (I'm only putting the romantic ones):

LloydXColette(colloyd)- colette is meant to be the main heroine of the game as well as the main love interest for Lloyd even though they're both quiet about their feelings, you can see they care for each other. If colette is the one you agree to talk to in Flanoir, then you've succeeded in getting a lloydXColette. This is probably the easiest one to get in the game.

LloydXSheena(shelloyd)(i think this one is just way better than LloydXColette)- throughout the game you can easily get Sheena to be the one you talk to at Flanoir. In the field skits (glowing ones), either never encounter the ones between Lloyd and colette or choose the wrong choice to keep colette at a distance from you. Encounter each one with Sheena and flatter her with the right choices to your hearts content and she'll be yours. You can tell cause she blushes a lot around Lloyd. :D

GenisXPresea- this relationship is cute and funny, but happens automatically in the game. Genis immediately falls in love with Presea the first time they meet and gets protective of her quite a lot. However, Presea doesn't show any similar feelings for him throughout the game.

RegalXAlicia- long story short, Alicia is Presea's older sister. Both Regal and Alicia shared feelings of love for each other. Although it doesn't play a major role in the game, it is still a coupling.

YuanXMartel- the signs may be hard to catch, but the most obvious one is Yuan's ring with the initials "Y" and "M" engraved on it meaning Yuan and Martel were engaged.

There are probably other couplings i have forgotten or left out on purpose, but this is the majority of them. Remember, this is only for the first game. And yes, i am a truly devoted "Shelloyd" fan.
