Most large retailers will not accept products for sale unless there is a UPC attached. If you have a large number products needing bar codes, register your company directly with GS1, the worldwide standards authority which governs product bar codes. For smaller quantities of products, it is more economical to use one of the many companies which are registered with GS1 and will transfer one of their assigned numbers to your product.
