On the firewall side of the engine block, near the transmission bellhousing, under the intake manifold that answer sir, is incorrect, the cavaliers did not use a cam sensor, only a crank sensor, but the location is right for the crank sensor
The Crank sensor in my 91 LeSarre Limited is behind the Harmonic balancer pulley....there are fins on the back of the pulley that line up with the sensor.
If you have a 2.2 engine ( 4 cyl. ) it is located under the ignition module at the back of the engine . Follow the plug wires to the coils, under the coils is the module under that is the crank sensor.
Simple answer is "no". It stopped being mandatory around '89 or '91. Therefore, GM cars/trucks don't have them, but Ford vehicles still have them.
change the crank position sensor
CPS is located next to the flywheel left(passenger) side looking from the from front.
the crank sensor is somtimes located on the top of the oil pan. i know it is atlest on the 91. side of the block just below the exhaust manifold it takes a 10 mm socket
You cant "reset" the timing on these. It has computer controlled ignition timing. If there is a timing problem check the crank sensor.
