No it can't... your best option will be to use a converter such as this one...ABC Amber CHM Converter... it is known for being able to convert chm to pdfs very well. In the knew kindle versions pdf format is supported.

If you're willing to pay for it, I'm sure you can get it on Kindle. Bit Torrent Applications are likely to have them, too. I once had all four books downloaded to my computer from LimeWire, and they were good, as far as .pdfs go.
Yes I can read a pdf on Kindle.1. If the pdf file are just files or document, I can read it directly just by transfering it to my Kindle.2. But if the pdf file is PDF eBook, maybe we have to convert the pdf to Kindle mobi format because Kindle doesn't support the common pdf format eBook.See related link.
the nook offers z wide selection of books from barnes and nobles book catalog. you can also find free books from Google books. you can import pdfs, and other non drom epub books. also you can not import kindle books such as amzn, whichis amazons lock on kindle books. so the nook offers many books from scifi to thriller.

Simply download the free software Calibre (it's an ebook management software). Import the word doc into it, then convert it to mobi. It's very good for most formats except pdfs, which are too difficult to convert.
You can, but it probably won't work unless it's compatible. The Kindle can read a great deal of formats, but it's preferable that you use their own: .azw format. It will read DRM-free .mobi (so public domain books are fine) and PDFs, etc., but don't purchase ebooks from other major online stores until you've made sure they're compatible.
