Is there a downside to using bottles and bricks to distract enemies in The Last Of Us?

As soon as you throw a bottle or brick to distract enemies, you should move to a new position to avoid being spotted after they investigate the noise.
The reason being because when you make a noise using one of these objects, the enemy NPCs will break away from the path they were scripted to follow by the game developers and wander around aimlessly. This makes them harder to avoid and increases the chances of being spotted.
If you stay stealthy enough and watch the enemy movements carefully, there is actually no need to make distraction noises. But you should still carry at least one brick or bottle with you at all times in case you need to stun an enemy.
