It's called get your dog spayed!!
Another person here, but this question is utterly ignorant. Besides, you can't control your period can you? Nope. However, like the above person suggested, you can get your dog spayed. If you're looking to give your dog drugs just to keep it from going into heat, though, then I suggest not having a pet at all. If you do not have enough money to spend on getting your pet spayed, you can also buy baby diapers, and I believe there is also some dog diapers for that matter. Make sure to take your pet out on a leash, in case male dogs come around, because they will try to rip off the diaper, and may succeed.
Unless you want your dog for breeding, please get her spayed! Spaying the dog stops her from going in heat. Also if you do not, 50% of female dogs that have not had puppies and are not spayed get Pyometra, a disease of the uterus.
The Greene's dog in the show "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is named Oscar.

A dog's heat cycle is 21 days on average. This means it can be shorter (two weeks) or longer (four weeks). Contact your vet if your dog's heat cycle is going on longer than 4 weeks, and continue to restrict male dogs access to your dog.
The only way to stop your dog going into heat is to get her spayed, her heat cycles won't stop naturally.
Dogs typically stop going into heat when they reach old age, around 7-10 years old. However, this can vary depending on the breed and individual dog. Spaying can also prevent a dog from going into heat.
No, this is a myth. Turpentine is a solvent that is toxic to dogs.
