Yes, it should be a 5 amp.
No.
Check to be sure the brightness control switch is not turned off.
In the fuse box. Need to know what year S10 you have to help you further. On my 93 S10 the interior lights are (ready 4 this? :) on the fuse marked "HORN". No wonder they went bankrupt!
Probably a blown fuse. What you need to find out is why the fuse blew.
is it a 4x4?? yes
It sounds like a wiring issue. There could be a loose wire on the instrument cluster, on behind the fuse block.
If you have no dash lights at all on your 1989 S10 Blazer, a blown bulb can be the problem. You should also check the fuse.
Dead short in light wires or sockets remove each bulb and socket and replace bulbs one at a time until fuse blows and check wiring to each socket.
You probably have a blown fuse but, the reason why the fuse blew may take some investigating.
replae backup light switch on transmission
Check the fuse, then the bulbs, then the brake light switch.
Pull the fuse, but the abs light will remain on.
