It depends on your flight, you'll have to contact your airline. They try to keep them at 1-2 hours, but if it is longer, there is a free shuttle you can take into downtown to see the sights. It stops at Temple Square, and from there you can tour Temple Square or take public transportation (free within downtown) to see other sights in the area.
