Is there a pill for flea and ticks for animal?

There is one called Sentinel Flavor-Tabs that is an once a month oral medication given for the prevention of Heartworms, fleas (doesn't do ticks), roundworms, hookworms & whip worms. It does it all once a month. You can also use the topical medications that are a bit cheaper such as Frontline, put directly on the skin once a month to prevent fleas & ticks. Then, for the heartworm prevention, which is extremely important, you can give orally something like Iverhart Plus or Iverhart Max which is the generic version of Heartgard and much cheaper than Heartgard. There is also another topical one that does it all but topically (put it directly on the skin). That one is called Revolution, which protects against heartworms, fleas & ticks, plus a spectrum of other internal parasites. If you wanted just one treatment for all, then I would recommend this one, Revolution, as it prevents more things than the oral medication Sentinel Flavor-Tabs, but it is put on topically and not given orally. Check with your Veterinarian too about these different medications to see which one he or she would choose. I personally use the Frontline once a month for prevention of the fleas & ticks and the Iverhart Plus for the prevention of Heartworms, roundworms and Hookworms which is an oral medication. My Veterinarian likes the Revolution, once a month topically, which does it all. It is a personal and financial choice but just make sure your pet is treated once a month YEAR AROUND for prevention against Heartworms, Fleas & Ticks and internal parasites. If your pet has never been checked for Heartworm by your Veterinarian, then have your pet checked first with a little blood test, to make sure she or he is heartworm free before starting them on a heartworm preventative.

What are the benefits of using Revolution flea protection for my pet?

Revolution flea protection for pets offers several benefits, including effective prevention and treatment of fleas, ticks, heartworms, and other parasites. It also provides convenience as it is a once-a-month topical treatment. Additionally, Revolution is easy to apply and can help protect your pet from various diseases transmitted by parasites.

Will having your pet dipped keep fleas off the pet?

The fleas hate the smell so it should help for the most part. 2nd Answer: Flea Dips will only keep off the fleas for about 5-7 days at the most. You should use a monthly topical application such as Frontline or Advantix. You just apply it to the skin once a month and it will kill and repel all fleas & ticks. You need to reapply it once a month. You can find these products at the larger Pet Stores or Feed Stores or at your Veterinarian. These products work very well at killing and keeping off all ticks & fleas which in turn also help to keep your pet free from certain types of internal worms, such as tapeworms which are carried by fleas. Don't forget about preventing Heartworms too. You need to have your pet tested first by your Veterinarian to make sure it is free of heartworms before you start the once a month preventative.

Do heartworm medicines kill or just prevent heartworms?

There is a variety of dog medication available online that both prevent heartworm disease and flea and tick infestation. However, if you're asking about the medicine prescribed to dogs already diagnosed with the disease, I don't believe that was formulated for tick and flea prevention. In the end, it all boils down to "ask your vet first". Dosage is very important especially when it comes to heartworm meds so this is your best bet. I'm sure your pet's life is not something you'd take chances on. === === == Heart worm medicine only works on heartworms not fleas or ticks.

What are small pieces of rice on feces or around the anus of the dog or cat most likely?

1st Answer: Might be worms, get the animal treated now. 2nd Answer: These are Tapeworms. The egg sacs that are shed through the feces look like small grains of rice. The round worms look like spaghetti in the feces. You should gather up a small sample of your dog's feces over a 2 day period and then take it and your dog into your Veterinarian for a check up. The Vet can then check the stool sample you brought in to see what type of internal parasites your dog has. You know for sure your dog has tapeworms (tell your Vet), just need to know if there are any other internal parasites present in your dog. Then the Vet will give you the correct medication to deworm your dog. Fleas are the intermediate host for the tapeworms so get some flea prevention going with your dog. The easiest way is to purchase Front Line or Advantix and put it on topically on your dog's skin once a month and it will keep off and kill any fleas, ticks, etc. Ask your Vet about that. Remember it takes Fleas to pass on the tapeworm eggs to your dog so get those fleas off. Also don't forget about Heartworm prevention. Your dog should be on once a month pills for heartworm prevention. Your Vet would need to test your dog first to make sure he or she is free of heartworms before starting heartworm preventative. Ask your Vet for the generic version of Heartgard needed monthly to prevent the Heartworms, as it is cheaper. They should be given once a month year around for protection.
