Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) use The Bible (King James Version), Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price as scripture.

The Old and New Testaments of the Bible are the same scripture as what is used by Protestant Christians. English-speaking Mormons use the King James Version, which is one of the oldest existing English translations.

The Book of Mormon is a record of the people living on the American continents during the same time period as the Bible. It was discovered by Joseph Smith, who translated it into English by the power of God.

The Doctrine & Covenants is a collection of the revelations, doctrines, and instruction given to Joseph Smith by God during the early years of the Church. It clarifies and outlines the doctrines of the Church.

The Pearl of Great Price includes the book of Moses, which is comparable to Genesis and was supposedly revealed to Joseph Smith; the book of Abraham, which Joseph Smith translated from some Egyptian Papyri; and Joseph Smith's re-translation of Matthew 24.

Mormons consider all of these, in addition to the words and sermons spoken by the modern prophets, as the word of God.

You can read the four books that Mormons use as scripture as well as the recent words of their modern prophets at the "Related Links" below.
